There are times when situations arise that try our character and stretch us to our limits. They extend and strain our spiritual muscles pushing us to grow.
Have you ever had someone treat you unfairly at work or at school? Have you ever had someone mistreat you or demean you? Have you ever had someone falsely accuse you or lie about a situation to make themselves look better or to make you look like the one at fault?
A normal response to any of these situations is anger, hurt, retaliation, justice,
So how will you respond?
When circumstances described above arise, this is when Biblical principles and a Christ-like mindset should kick into action. This when we move from a state of passive learning into real-life practice. This is when studying scriptures for the purpose of writing them on your heart comes into play, to be ready or have our armor on. Regular Bible study builds Christ-like reflexives rather than worldly reactions. It makes Christ-like reactions second nature and instinctive. Daily Bible study creates awareness and places the signs of temptation at the forefront of our minds. It helps us to stay on guard and be aware so that when tempted, we are ready.
The goods news is God gives us the ability and the tools to rise above and overcome because God gives us the Bible for guidance and the perfect model to emulate, Jesus Christ.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
